Saw this show last night and it was so fantastic, I walked home feeling I had been gifted a wonderful memory! I keep journals all the time, since covid in fact, and theya re a bewildering mixture of doodles, sketches (in word and drawing form), pages in which I try to work something out in a book or with a character or a scene - and lists of things I should be doing. (We all know those lists!) All work and no play? Impossible when your 'to do' lists per day often have more than thirty items on them. It has felt overwhelming, at times, on a daily basis. But if I do a bit of art on the side, some doodling and drawing and card-making, and remember to divide difficult tasks into smaller, more easily achievable goals, anything is possible! The countdown has begun, the final edits are being done and my new children's book, Mischievous Magical Maia Malone is on its way. Every time I leave my writing shed, this is what happens. Anyone would think she didn't want me to work!!! Found a home for the beautiful art of @padhraignolan that featured on the cover of the inaugural collection of chapbooks from @silverlocustpress So my collection of flash fiction, #GlimpsesBeneath has been launched alongside three wonderful collections by Sara Mullen, @geoffreygatza and KIara Penn -the inaugural collection of chapbooks by the new and stylish Silver Locust Press in the United Arts Club in Dublin. This afternoon, in the Teachers Club, if you happen to be free, come to the launch of the latest book from @katmezzacappa from 4pm. Should be a lovely few hours - can't wait to read the book, but always interesting to hear about where the story came from beforehand. #LucieDumas #MaidenofFlorence #booklaunch Walking on the blue limestone flags Shakespeare must have walked on in Anne Hathaway's cottage... Maybe he danced on the with her, or came up with lines as he stood there when he was meant to be doing something else entirely...
