Feb 2024:
Couple of school trips coming up – workshops around my Wulfie series, and talks on the writing life/ creating characters etc.
But I was also delighted to be invited onto a panel to do with gender equality and depiction in drama series at the international conference of the GEMINI project at Maynooth University last month, giving the writer, creator & executive producer point of view on gender issues and serial drama, including my experience with my series, Dad’s Red Dress. Also on the panel were Michaela Michailov, Pia Majbritt Jensen & Domizia De Rosa.
Below are links to a few interviews and articles I’ve done in the past. I do need to update it, but it’s a flavour of what I do…
About ten articles on writing screenplays for writing.ie based on my book Write That Script. They cover character, idea, plot, structure and you can find them all listed here (https://www.writing.ie/resource-types/write-for-stage-screen/) along with tons of other useful and interesting material.
And here’s an interview I did for Northside People:
Some interviews – do we ever get used to the sound of our own voice on the radio? In The Green Room with Orla Barry on Newstalk 106-108FM talking about my last book, Write That Script and as a guest of Derek Flynn on Music & Me.

Bookline with Teresa Quinn on Liffey Sound FM 96.4 talking about all my books and where the writing and the stories come from. This interview has also been aired on Near FM, Athlone Communìty Radio and Youghal Community Radio.
Talking with Philomena Barry on Athlone Community Radio 88.4FM. This podcast features three interviews Philomena did; mine comes in at 4.47.
A guest on the Rhyme and Reason radio programme on Dublin South FM 93.9 with Helen Dwyer talking about Dad’s Red Dress
More articles and blog interviews:
A guest post on Swirl & Thread, written in the snow…
A video interview ‘On Writing…’ with Liam Boland; on Dad’s Red Dress and on The Angelica Touch.
With The Gloss Magazine, online magazine with the Irish Times, interviewed by Sophie Grenham just after Dad’s Red Dress came out.
On the Author’s Interviews blog with Fiona McVie
On the Lisa Loves Literature blog with Lisa Mandina
On Smashwords, in my own words!
Some older interviews include being interviewed for Film Ireland as part of Caroline Farrell’s Irish Women in Film series and the online magazine, Upstart by Anne Parsons.
Writing for the stage
On the subject of theatre, there’s a recent interview here that appeared in the AboutFACE Theatre Company’s #theatremakeslifebetter blog post for #worldtheatreday, 27th March 2020. AboutFACE is Theatre Company in Residence 2020 at The Civic). And another in the Yana Writes About Theatre blog, which was published while I was putting on my last play, All Thumbs.
Perhaps because I come from a print journalism background, there’s still something special about having an article in the paper – maybe it goes back to my days (13 years-worth) as a freelance journo! So here’s Orla O’Driscoll’s interview with me in the Northside People. How she got one hour of chat down to 500 words, I have no idea! (The focus was on where my novel, The Angelica Touch, had come from! It’s available on Amazon and from my online store here.)
